In a pilot project for the 2022/23 season, the first measurement basis for a life cycle assessment of the Schauspielhaus Zürich was created. Carbotech supported the Schauspielhaus in determining the ecologically relevant indicators and analysed the data on energy consumption, water consumption, mobility and employee catering in an initial life cycle assessment. In the 2022/2023 annual report, the Schauspielhaus is reporting environmental key figures for the first time.
The work will serve as a basis for analysing further areas in the next season, defining quantitative targets and developing measures to reduce environmental impact. The creation of a catalogue with emission factors for theatre materials is also planned.
