In order to utilise resources more efficiently and reduce the environmental impact, Blattmann Schweiz AG relies on innovative solutions for the use of by-products. Carbotech was commissioned to evaluate and compare the environmental benefits of using by-products for the production of glucose.

Instead of wheat or spelt flour, which can be used directly for human consumption, alternative products from side streams will be used in future:

Potato slurry, a by-product of French fries production, offers the greatest potential for reducing environmental impact while significantly lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
Pea flour, which is a by-product of pea protein production, also significantly reduces the environmental and climate impact.
