We are often asked what the significance of environmental impact points (UBP) is. In the table below, we have compiled the significance of 1000 environmental impact points (UBP) for various categories (method of ecological scarcity 2021, based on ecoinvent v3.8 inventories and our own calculations). This allows LCA results to be placed in the context of everyday products or activities.
It should be noted that these are indicative values showing the magnitude of the UBPs of the products or activities. Within a product or activity, the values can vary considerably under certain circumstances.
